Homework

WHY ALL THE HOMEWORK?

Apparently these days adults need a tutor just to help their kids understand their homework....and no I'm not talking about college level homework here... I'm talking 5th grade!

Maybe it's just that my daughter and I are just too much alike. We just sit and argue about what the "right" way to do things is. I think we need a tutor. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Our Annual Holiday Inn Trip

My friends and I decided to go to the Holiday Inn again this year to practice our swimming legs. You know, we have to make sure we can still swim. As I'm typing this I just realized that all the pictures of this event are on the computer at work. Maybe I'll remember to post them later. ha.

We had a great time, swam for a few hours, ate some...crap... not literally. Fell asleep around midnight after playing cards and woke up to a decent complimentary breakfast.

You guys should all do this! It really is a lot of fun!

I must admit

I'm not much of a blogger. But I LOVE to read blogs. Especially ones with children. I like blogs about medical issues (that people overcome-and sometimes not). I wonder if this makes me strange. I hope not. A lot of times I think I'm a pessimist, but in blog world I think I'm an eternal optimist. Does that make sense? I didn't think so.

My recent addictions have been two of my favorite blogs since the beginning...

http://www.mycharmingkids.net/
and
http://kayleighannefreeman.blogspot.com/

They are both unique stories. Right now the ending seems to be going in the right direction for Stellan, and a terribly wrong direction (or right depending on how you look at it) for Kayleigh.

Just thought I would share what's been keeping me busy!

Your Assignment, Should You Choose To Accept

Thanks to MamaKat over here for the writing fun.

Check her out to get the real idea what's going on.

The Prompts:

1.) If I sent you four hundred dollars today what is ONE thing you would spend it on and why. ps I want my change.

2.) What are your kids talking about?

3.) Tell us about a local news story that's all the buzz right now in your neck of the woods.

4.) Share some blogging advice.

5.) Tell us about that time at the playground when that thing happened.

I'll take number 1... and that would be a water heater. ha.

that was easy... i didn't even have to write anything really!!!

YouData

So I found this really cool program that gives you money for clicking on links. It literally takes 5 minutes out of your day. They deposit money directly into your paypal account. I know it sounds too good to be true...but see for yourself.

http://www.youdata.com/join/awfullycrafty

All you have to do is fill out a questionnaire and then you can start clicking on the links. Mine just open up in my tab and then I close them. It's just that simple.

I made 3 bucks today just from clicking for 5 minutes!

So how long has it been?

FINALLY...

This is the result of Hannah's room. I know it's really plain, but that's the way it's supposed to be. She has an entire other bedroom dedicated to EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD. Including a TV with her Wii. I don't recall having my own "office" when I was 10 years old!

Tagged!

I was tagged by Jen to do this really fun meme! Try it yourself!

The Rock Star Club
1) Go to Wikipedia and hit the random link on the left sidebar, under the navigation heading. The first article you get is the name of your band.
2) Go to the website The Quotations Page. The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your album.
3) Go to Flicker's Randomizer feature. The third picture, no matter what it is, is your album cover.
4) Use Photoshop or another photo editing software to create your album cover.
5) Post your album cover on your blog, along with this text. Be sure to nominate at least 5 friends (by leaving comments on their blogs with a link to your post), and tag me, by leaving a comment so that I can see what you've created.

Here is my result!

Miodne [ˈmjɔdnɛ] is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Nowogard, within Goleniów County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1]

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany.

Wow. That's random!

Facebook

I decided to give up Facebook for Lent this year. I am completely and utterly addicted and I love it. It's like spying only...it's allowed. A strange new phenomenon.

Is anyone else out there addicted?

Long week

It's been such a long week at work. I was so glad it was Friday yesterday...well at least by 6 p.m. I went to Chili's to celebrate Jessica and Michelle's birthday. Feb. 12 was the actual day, but we're all so busy that it got delayed! It was so much fun and it was particularly nice to see my other friend Michelle who we NEVER get to see. She's a hot shot nurse now! Who would've thought she would become a peds nurse especially knowing when she started at the center she didn't know you were supposed to warm the bottles for the babies! She's come a long way!

After dinner I was going to go home but I went over to Jessica's house and we ended up going to see the new Tyler Perry movie. It was funny at times but all together not that great. I was just happy to be out with friends honestly!

I really love my friends.

On most days I really love my job. There are certain points of the day that I feel so lucky/thankful for the children at the center. I feel good for THEM too. We honestly have the best group of women that you could ever imagine to take care of our kids at the center. There are SO MANY bad places out there.

I thank God everyday for all he does for our family at PRBC.

What are you most thankful for in your life?

Tri-Cycle

My friend Michelle is a big girl. (No really, she calls herself that)... She bought herself an "adult trike". Here is a picture of it in my office. If you're lucky I may post a picture of me riding it. If you're lucky...

Sadness

So, I've been reading a lot of blogs lately. They all seem to be so sad. There have been 3 children that have passed away, 2 to get cancer...geesh. I guess I'm just really thankful for all that I have. I'm thankful for my friends...my family. I mean...we all have it really good!

A New Beginning

Can you imagine how Martin Luther King Jr. would feel right now?

This is, indeed, the most historic time in any of our lives...or at least that's how I think about it. I think a lot of us never imagined that we would ever see an African American President. I KNOW my grandfather never imagined it! I would think that Martin Luther King Jr., although incredibly forward thinking, probably never imagined things could have progressed to where we are today. I mean, we've come a long way!

We have a lot more to accomplish as a nation.

But, I'm excited about what is to come.

4) I don't like wearing coats

5) I really wanna be a star. I could totally hang with Brit Brit

6) I love to sleep

7) I love ballet...I help out with Hannah's ballet school as much as possible. I even help backstage during productions.

Oh love...

So I never ever post things about other peoples blogs, but I am compelled to do so today.

I really like reading blogs about children, parenting, real life stuff. Several months ago I started to follow a blog about a little girl named Magdalena Grace Roberts. She is a T18 baby and wasn't expected to live past a few breaths upon her birth. Magdalena lived. She proved she was a fighter and actually lived 166 days (I think I'm right on that). Here is the link.

Please say a little prayer for Noah & Julie as they grieve the loss of their precious baby girl.
